The purpose of this communication is to inform all interested stakeholders of the opportunity to submit public comments on the proposed implementation of Performance-Based Contracting for Supports Coordination services and proposed additional changes to the Consolidated, Community Living, and Person/Family Directed Support (P/FDS) Waivers that are not related to Performance-Based Contracting effective January 1, 2026. The public comment period starts on April 19, 2025, and ends on May 26, 2025, at 11:59 PM for all proposed changes in this communication.

2025 Move Your Way Day

The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) and Governor Josh Shapiro’s office invite you to Move Your Way! To acknowledge the National Day of Exercise and ODP’s campaign to encourage physical activity, Governor Josh Shapiro has signed the attached proclamation which recognizes, April 18, 2025 as Move Your Way Day.
What is Move Your Way?
Move Your Way is the physical activity campaign based on the second edition of the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans. It offers tools and resources for individuals and professionals to learn about the Physical Activity Guidelines, shares its key messages and encourages individuals to become more active. Recognizing the health disparities and coexisting medical conditions experienced by many individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and autism, ODP is promoting Move Your Way in cooperation with the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Becoming more physically active can help lead to happier, healthier lives. Please share widely!

The Pennsylvania Lifesharing Coalition invites you to save the date for its 13th Annual Lifesharing Conference. On October 6 and 7, 2025 the Lifesharing Conference will be held at The Alloy Hotel in King of Prussia, PA. The family-friendly conference will offer training hours for professionals, presenter and sponsorship opportunities, an exhibit hall, the Excellence in Lifesharing Award Ceremony, and more!
 
Call for Presenters!
The Lifesharing Coalition is looking for presenters for the 2025 Lifesharing Conference. The coalition invites you to present your knowledge to and eager audience looking to gain new skills. Sessions are between 45 and 60 minutes and include 15 minutes for question & answer. Topics of interest include but are not limited to aging individuals, medically complex children, respite services, recruiting lifesharing providers/families, safe use of technology, self-care, and best practices. See the attached Call for Presenters form for more details on how to apply.

The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) requests your assistance sharing the attached communication, ODPANN 25-040 Clarification on Monitoring of Chapter 2380 and 2390 Regulations for Individuals Who Reside in ICF/ID Settings. The purpose of this communication is to clarify which regulatory requirements in Chapters 2380 and 2390 will and will not be monitored during licensing inspections when applied to individuals who reside in Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/ID) settings and attend facility-based day services. This announcement replaces Info Packet 136-11 issued in 2011.

Pennsylvania Developmental Disabilities Council (PADDC) - Request for Concerns Regarding Federal Policy Changes

The Council released a statement about the federal government's proposal to dismantle the Administration of Community Living (ACL). This change, along with several other recent decisions, will impact services for people with developmental disabilities.

If you have concerns about eliminating ACL, cuts to Medicaid, closing the Department of Education, or any other federal policy changes; please share how your life will be impacted by emailing Council at [email protected] so PADDC can pass your story along to policy makers.

General Information Session for Support Coordination Organization Performance-Based Contracting

The ODP Annual data report provides statistical information to educate our stakeholders about the individuals ODP serves and the services they receive. This data provides an important overview of the service system ODP oversees that supports individuals with disabilities. The accompanying resource, Everyday Lives: Values in Action Information, Sharing and Advisory Committee (ISAC) Recommendations, Strategies, and Performance Measures, provides information on indicators of success used to gauge the effectiveness of the work of ODP.

Benefits of Being Physically Active
Adults should aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity and at least 2 days of muscle-strengthening activity each week. Regular physical activity during the week and throughout your lifetime can help lower the risk of chronic conditions, such as Type 2 diabetes and heart disease, and boost immune function. Physical activity can also help you feel better right away. Being active can reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, sharpen your focus, reduce your stress, and improve your sleep. Plus, being active with others is a great way to build strong social connections.
