Advocacy Toolkit for FY 2025/26 Budget Advocacy
The state is facing a $3 billion dollar deficit, and the Governor has included an additional $175 million for annualizing last year's rates and waiting list initiative. PAR and it's partners are asking for the legislature to support the following initiatives:
- Supporting the inclusion of $175 million for the annualization of costs in the Community Waiver Program, as proposed in Governor Shapiro’s budget. This funding is essential to maintain services to individuals recently brought off the emergency waiting list. In addition, PAR is asking for $10 million for rates to support Early Intervention for children.
- Supporting Senate Bill 617, which ties future ID/A service rates to inflation and cost-of-living adjustments. Sustainable rates are necessary to ensure that wages for DSPs remain competitive and service delivery remains viable.
- Enacting policy changes that empower providers to deliver high-quality care more effectively. These include simplifying
