Behavior Support Specialist

Position Description:
Behavior Support specialists complete functional behavioral analysis, develop behavior support plans, offer trainings to all supports—paid and natural—on the plan, attend psychiatric appointments and counseling as needed. Behavior specialists also conduct data analysis to monitor both behavioral health and mental health symptoms that will then be reported to all team members and related professionals. Additionally, the behavior specialist will meet with the individual and their staff on a regular basis to facilitate and model appropriate behavioral interventions. The ultimate goal of behavior support is to reduce the frequency, intensity, and duration of problem behaviors so that the individual is able to live an every day life. At Cornerstone, it is our utmost priority to treat each individual with respect and dignity, advocate for the individual’s rights, and to build a positive rapport that will have successful results.

Specific Requirements and Preferences:

• Master’s Degree or higher in Psychology, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, Education, Applied Behavior, or Gerontology.
• A Pennsylvania Behavior Specialist License
• A Bachelor’s Degree, and work under the supervision of a professional who has a Master’s Degree or higher in Psychology, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or Gerontology, or who is a licensed psychiatrist, psychologist, professional counselor, or social worker.
