Position Description:
Do you possess a strong presentation style and knowledge of adult learning methods? The Barber National Institute is now hiring for our Training Manager role in the Philadelphia region!

The Training Manager is primarily responsible for training agency employees with solid teaching methods concentrating on programmatic requirements and needs. Trainings may include, but are not limited to, Medication Administration, Positive Intervention Techniques, UKERU, Handle with Care, Van & Wheelchair training etc. The Training Manager will be responsible for maintaining certification required to teach these courses.

This role requires outstanding verbal, written, organizational, time-management, and analytical skills. The incumbent of this role will be responsible for overseeing the operation and management of the Philadelphia Employee Education and Training Department. Applicants must be willing to work a flexible schedule as needed.

Responsibilities for the Training Manager:

  • Conduct New Employee Orientation trainings as part of the training team
  • Work with colleagues to ensure all orientation programs/schedules meet the needs of the new employees and meet agency and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate new employee orientation schedule with Human Resources Department based on the needs of the program
  • Train and support staff in acquiring the skills necessary to deliver high quality services to individuals that receive service, including facilitating trainings on the Barber Hub
  • Schedule and facilitate trainings completed by outside trainers such as CPR/First Aid, ASL, Diabetes/Insulin training etc.
  • Produce and distribute quarterly training reports to service line leaders and assist with analysis of data
  • Serve as primary Medication Supervisor by completing, signing, and maintaining medication administrator records
  • Maintain a working knowledge of best practices and techniques related to employee training, educational theory, and technological deployment

Specific Requirements and Preferences:
Qualifications for Trainer:

  • Valid PA driver’s license
  • Associate’s degree or higher required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience working with the IDD/A population required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and eLearning software required
  • Eligibility for State Police Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse History Clearances
  • FBI clearance required for individuals who do not meet PA residency requirements
