Position Description:
Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing residential group home, day habilitation and supported employment services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in 11 states. We are currently seeking a qualified and dynamic Regional Director of Residential Services to oversee Central PA operations. This supervisory role provides guidance to the Executive Directors within the regional area. The Regional Director oversees the entire operations of their region which involves direct oversight of local Executive Directors and the operations of their programs. This includes collaborating with the local and national teams in addition to county and state entities in order to maintain full licensure and balanced budgets. This position can be based out of any one of our Central PA offices in Camp Hill, York, Columbia, PA. 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises Executive Directors and ensures that they are completing their essential functions.
  • Assist Executive Directors in developing and maintaining an effective Community Options Business Advisory Council (COBAC).
    Oversee compliance with state and corporate regulations.
  • Assists and oversees new development of residential homes, Community Participation Support,
  • Supported Employment, and other qualified services.
  • Represent COI at local speaking opportunities for a variety of purposes including staff recruitment, COBAC recruitment, new development, public relations, community education and more.
  • Participate in local Quality Assurance team.
  • Acts as the Executive Director in the absence of an Executive Director in the region they oversee.
  • Responsible for developing and overseeing proper execution of budgets. This role oversees approximately a 17M budget. 
  • Assists the PA Vice President with special projects.

Specific Requirements and Preferences:
Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven experience managing staff providing supports to persons with with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting.
  • Excellent time management skills, strategic choice thought under pressure, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to present facts and recommendations effectively.
  • Follows the servant leader paradigm.
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with other management staff, employees, and the general public, demonstrating sensitivity to corporate needs, employee goodwill, and the company's overall public image.

Education and Work Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • Three to five years’ experience working in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities field.
