Program Specialist, ID/Autism Day Program

Position Description: Access Services is seeking an experienced, professional Program Specialist who will be the supervisor for our Life Day Program in Orwigsburg, PA. As Program Specialist, you will have the opportunity to lead our day program for adults with developmental disabilities and Autism in a creative and supportive environment. The program specialist coordinates the daily schedule, community outings, and social activities for individuals in the day program. They are responsible for supervising the support staff and interacting with both internal and external team members.
Specific Requirements and Preferences: Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of work experience working directly with persons with disabilities OR
- Master’s degree or above from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of work experience working directly with persons with disabilities OR
- Associate’s degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of work experience working directly with persons with disabilities.
Certification:
- Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, Medication Administration, and Community Participation Supports for DSP within six months of hire, unless not required by specific program. We provide the training for these certifications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of principles and methods of habilitation, behavior management, safety techniques and programming planning principles.
- Knowledge of person centered planning and the ability to help individuals meet their plan of care objectives.
- Knowledge of pertinent community resources and facilities.
- Demonstrated excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills.
- Current valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and proof of car insurance is required.
