Megan Dickson

In Guanajuato, Mexico Megan traveled with Penn State Harrisburg’s English program to work with students in a local high school as well as attended lectures at the University of Guanajuato. She experienced the International Women’s Day celebrations with the high school students, visited the famous Mummy Museum, was a spectator at a rodeo and attended the 2015 Rally Guanajuato racing event to garner a greater understanding of the local culture.

Megan also interned at the Supa-Ngwao Museum, in Botswana, Africa where she interviewed expatriates who had completed, or were working to complete, citizenship in Botswana in an effort to understand what makes people call a country “home”. She visited Elephant Sands in Chobe National Park, Gandamyeba Hills where she took in the ancient rock paintings, Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, as well as the neighborhood in Soweto, South Africa where Nelson Mandela lived.
