Position Description:
Access Services is currently seeking an Assistant Director for our Delaware Valley Lifesharing Program serving individuals in Montgomery County, PA! You will be part of as team working to support adults with intellectual disabilities/Autism who live in our Lifesharing provider homes. Our team works with the provider families and the individuals to ensure the home meets the needs and preferences of the person served. 

**The position is eligible for a $1,000.00 hiring bonus if hired before 3/23/22** 

Position Summary:

  • Assist in the intake and referral process, ensure full compliance with regulatory standards about the maintenance of provider family and consumer files.
  • Maintain good communication with case management, county offices of ODP and Mental health as well as other affiliates.

Work Schedule:

  • 9 a – 5 p Monday through Friday with flexibility for meetings, etc.
  • This position will be based in our Fort Washington Office.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Assist in the overall management and daily operational oversight of the Lifesharing program. Help ensure the provision of quality services and maintenance of files are in accordance with Department of Public Welfare regulations.
  • Assist the respite/intake department in receiving referral and facilitating the intake and matching process.
  • Participate in home studies and the screening of potential providers.
  • Provide support to Lifesharing coordinators.
  • Intervene as necessary with concerns/problems with coordinators and provider families.
  • Interface with county staff in monitoring services.
  • Facilitate team meetings as needed with coordinators.
  • Attend committee meetings, county meetings, and regional and state subcommittee meetings.
  • Review program plans and reports.
  • Assist in program development, policies and procedures development.
  • Assist in all program audits.
  • Assist in interviewing, training and other employment related actions of coordinators and support staff.
  • Assist the Director with training of providers.
  • Promote Access Services and the Lifesharing program within the community.

Specific Requirements and Preferences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field including human services, special education, psychology or social work required.


  • First Aid and CPR certification required.


  • Three (3) years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities required.
  • Valid driver's license, regular access to a reliable vehicle, and proof of car insurance.
  • Two years of driving experience with no Driver’s License suspensions in the last 48 months.

Access Services is a nonprofit social services organization supporting individuals with special needs throughout Eastern PA. We began our work in the mid-1970s, offering community living arrangements to people who had intellectual disabilities and were transferring out of Pennhurst State School & Hospital. Since then, we have greatly expanded the variety of services that we offer to individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism, and we have started many new programs related to behavioral health, foster care, crisis intervention, youth, and family services, and more.
