Accounting Manager

Position Description:
- Assist the Fiscal director in carrying out the functional and operational responsibilities of the department in accordance with KenCCID Policy and Procedure, KenCCID fiscal policy and procedure, union contract etc.
- Assist the Fiscal director in organizing, coordinates, and manages the day to day activities in the Fiscal department.
- Organize the bookkeeping processes of the company.
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll
- Directly supervise Payroll Specialist, Accounts Payable Specialist, and Bookkeepers in all their job duties and aware of all issue to ensures accuracy reporting
- Manage general ledger accounting functions. Reconcile balances and entering into the ledger:
- Bank reconciliation
- Journal Entries for monthly activities (including payroll labor distribution)
- Allocation entries (administration, program administration, program specialists, health coordinator, vehicle, Human resources, IT, and maintenance)
- Cash receipts for Operating, Habilitation, PR, consumers, Fund Raising, etc
- Cash receipts for PROMISE billing.
- Reconcile all Investment accounts and subsidiary accounts(including petty cash and scripts)
- Prepare and reconcile monthly all insurances and verify all deletions and enrollment of eligible employees (Health insurances, Disability (STD, LTD) & Life insurance.)
- Maintain fix assets, depreciation and interest
- Calculate the discretionally contribution for the agency 403b pension plan (yearly).
- Prepare financial reports.
- Personally handles the issues related to consumers financial.
- Work with external and internal auditors. Prepares all necessary schedules for the annual audit.
- Participate in the internal and external meetings regarding fiscal issues.
- Supervise the payroll processing in the absence of payroll specialist
- Notify Fiscal director of any accounting errors. Back up for Fiscal Director in his or her absence
- Knowledge of KenCCID policies and procedures, fiscal policies and procedures, Union contract and train all new hired Program specialist and Residential directors with KenCCID fiscal Policy & Procedure, Union Contract, etc.
- Update Fiscal Policies and Procedures as needed and required
- Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
- Perform different projects as requested
- Complete any other related duties as necessary

Education and Experience Requirements:
- BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel, ADP, ADP Enhanced time and accounting software (e.g. SAGE, SI (Sage)), PROMISE Billing System, HCSIS and basic computer skills
