Meet Amanda

Amanda Humes is no stranger to The Arc's Camp Sertoma, a camp for people of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Years ago, she attended as a camper. This summer, she is doing an internship at the camp, where she prepares daily lunches for campers at day camp.

When Amanda found out the current funding climate meant that The Arc had to make serious decisions about whether day camp could happen at all, she took action. Amanda called on members of her church, neighbors, friends, and business people to make donations to support The Arc's Camp Sertoma. In just a few weeks, Amanda raised more than $6,000.

Thanks to her commitment, caring and compassion, day campers are experiencing fun, friendship, and educational opportunities for Camp Sertoma's 54th summer.
