Self-Advocates and Families

Welcome to PAR, Pennsylvania Advocacy and Resources for Autism and Intellectual Disabilities!

PAR was incorporated in 1970 as a statewide, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. We are celebrating 40 Years of Excellence this year.

PAR’s mission is to build the capacity of the private sector to fully support Pennsylvanians with autism and intellectual disabilities according to their needs.

Our member organizations provide over $1.6 Billion in autism and intellectual disabilities services and supports in Pennsylvania and employ almost 31,000 Pennsylvanians.

PAR members provide the full range of supports and services to more than 51,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities, including over 8,000 children and adults living with autism, in over 7,900 locations in the Commonwealth in addition to providing numerous non-residential and in-home supports.

PAR represents home and community-based service providers, ranging from microboards and small family providers to large multi-state agencies, from every region of the Commonwealth, providing supports and services in all 48 county/county joinders.
